This debate on ‘Saffron Terrorism’ is all gas and no substance = TRPs. Thats all.
The fact remains that only Islam has the ‘concept’ of a Holy War or Jehad. To my knowledge, no other religion has anything close to it as a doctrine enshrined in its religion. There are no “infidels” to be wiped out as far any other religions go. Only Islam advocates it. What does it make Islam?
Now, that definition of “infidel” also extends to the Shia – Sumi divide and soon it will extend to Orthodox – Liberal Muslims, since its basis is the ‘fervency’ of belief – the Mullah Vs the Modern Muslim.
At its hight, every religion was used as a means of control over the population and social order, exploiting man’s natural belief in a god or a power greater than himself, by whatever name.
The dangerous game being played by the INC in having its Home Minister use ‘Saffron Terrorism’ as a phrase (even if it was purely descriptive) will surely boomerang on it, as it’s one time support of ‘Khalistan’ terrorism did. This policy with a soft approach to terror laws in a world riddled with terrorism, makes for a suicidal cocktail.
INC’s greed for hanging on to power by any means will soon result in the beast consuming its master.
