About JS
J. Srinivasan (JS) is an independent commentator and analyst on markets, the economy, and public policy, based in Bengaluru.
He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras. His career has spanned engineering, corporate finance, portfolio management, marketing, and strategic analysis — giving him a vantage point that connects boardroom decisions, market signals, and macroeconomic trends.
JS writes and speaks on the Indian and global economy, financial markets, governance, technology, and geopolitics, with a focus on context over commentary-of-the-moment — understanding why events happen, how they connect, and what they signal for the future.
Beyond his professional work, JS has spent close to four decades supporting individuals through de-addiction recovery, conducted on a pro-bono basis since 1984. He has also designed and built a community-focused “Ward Management System” aimed at strengthening local governance, and remains active in pursuits ranging from data visualisation and photography to long-distance road travel across India.
He continues to engage, write, and contribute to public conversation — bringing decades of professional grounding to the analysis of what matters today, and what it means for tomorrow.
