This parochial approach to supporting your own ‘community’ be it in sports or politics is really sick.
What you must now consider is whether its okay for India to be the laughing stock. Are you an Indian first or Tamilian, Sikh, Punjabi, Gujarati, Maharshtrian, Keralite and so on before you are an Indian? Think hard, for in that will lie the answer to whether we remain as a country or not.
There will always be sick/corrupt/inept people in every community – Raja from TN, MMS from Punjab, Kalmadi from Maharshtra, Mamata from Bengal, Lalu from Bihar, and Dhoni from Jharkhand and Terrorists from … so on…
The thing for a community to do is throw these types out and preserve the sanctity of their culture and ethos.
