Obviously, I write this with 2020 hindsight in the year of the Lord 2020.
BUT what’s not so obvious is that the so called “Experts” or Epidemiologists ought to have said this from Day -30 (or 30 days before) when the first wretched Chinese Virus Case was detected in India. India was one of the last major countries to have been hit by the wretched Chinese creation.
Let’s first state the obvious facts.
- The Virus originated in China.
- Official was “released” by wrteched China only in December 2019, with a “it’s not passed on human-to-human” note.
- The first case in India was reported on 30th January 2020
- On 24 March 2020, the Government of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days, but it extended to nearly 60 days, upto 31st May 2020.
- The Cases in India are still rising as I write this on 27th July 2020.
Now let’s state the NOT SO OBVIOUS Facts:
- The epidemic did NOT start or originate inside India.
- The Chinese Virus was “imported” – directly and via other countries.
- The Virus is extremely contagious – air, physical touch and surfaces.
Instead of a stupid “Lockdown” there should have been a “Lock OUT” on 1st January or earlier.
Let me explain.
No Brainer SOP of ANY suspected Epidemic originating outside India:
- Ban ALL incoming flights till further notice.
- Ban all Passenger ships from docking / offloading till further notice.
- Quarantine all Cargo ships’ personnel for 21 days.
- Ban all road and rail transport from entering India’s borders.
- Quarantine all pedestrian traffic coming into India at the borders itself.
- Keep ALL internal activity running full flow as before, thus saving livelyhoods and economy.
- Do NOT relax these (1-5) restrictions till the all-clear is visible. Then too, do so in selective and gradual phases.
The Lockdown was a measure that bolted the farmhouse after the horses had bolted! And did NO good whatsoever.
The strategy is simple – in keeping with Occam’s Razor.
