Since news is that this denial of visas by Canada based on the applicant’s GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT has been going on for some 2-3 years atleast, it’s obviously official Canadian POLICY, not just the creation of some High Commission officer, who one commentator says, Google’s “RAW” or “BSF” to learn what they are. I don’t blame him, it does make us Indians angry and cynical.
But, it raises one question: If ALL the "organizations" whose (ex-)employees are branded TERRORISTS and HUMAN RIGHTs violators and hence denied visas, then is Canada branding GOI as a Terrorist Organisation by citing it’s organizations as nurturing terrorists? BTW most organizations named are Law & Security enforcement agencies!
So according to Canada, is GOI a Human Rights Violator? And Terrorist Organisation? And then what about the Indian Constitution? Doesn’t it also become a "suspect"? Then no Indian national can qualify.
WHAT WAS THE GOI and Foreign Minister doing all this while, other than having Foreign jaunts?
And was Shashi Tharoor of “Intelligent” and UN exposure fame (who was thankfully removed as Jr. Minister in the Foreign Ministry) sleeping on the job? Pun un-intended J
The GOI and in particular, Manmohan Singh has shown how spineless they are in protecting India, its internal security and, now, it’s own external image as well. Obviously, countries have decided that no GOI headed by Congress will ever take any action worth mentioning against such a blatant slight as the Canadians have inflicted.
Shame on MMS and GOI. Less said about the Foreign Minister, the better. And even less said about a Foreign Secretary who smiles when talking about this matter!!!! Is she also contesting a Miss India crown? She should learn from Hilary Clinton who also looks the part while speaking about North Korea’s misadventures!
No wonder when Home Minister, P Chidambaram, wants a full mandate to eliminate Maoists waging a WAR against the Indian state is denied a free hand.
SHAME on you, MMS.
And shame on us, Indians. We keep selfishly quiet.
Soon we’ll have to once again witness a new freedom struggle since we don’t want to defend the freedom we have!
