GMÂ @octotus I read the article you refer to

with some interest. I was amused after I read it 🙂
What foxes me, especially knowing the way things work in India, why on earth would you even “inform” the accused BEFORE conducting an investigation? What if the investigation finds no truth in the allegation?
After investigation, and if indicted by the investigation, the accused would any way get ALL the information and documents to be used against him in a court (in this case the Lokayukta). And he can defend himself before he can be found guilty!!!
Another question that defies logic is how is the Lokayukta expected to know what all documents etc to “seize” even before an investigation is carried out? Isn’t it that investigations lead to discovering incriminating evidence?
Lastly, the “penalties” against “false” complaints is both unprecedented and goes against all well established principles of jurisprudence. If the “Victim” is so aggrieved he can file a case against the complainant and prove maleficence and its consequence will automatically follow!Â
Sorry, the well manicured but hollow defence may fool the uninitiated but doesn’t wash with me. The Mask has come off Modi.
I’m not surprised at Modi’s unmasking. Look at how many top leaders all over the world have come a cropper. The old adage – You cant fool all the people all the time – wasn’t coined for nothing!
