Lets say you had played cricket in school and maybe even in college, had a good technique and match stats.
Lets also say that you always came to the cricket training and selection camps or even scheduled matches only when it suited you that the other priorities like studying for your Medical/IIT/IIM selection exams were fulfilled.
The Selectors don’t consider you for the team on account of your lack of bare attendance and reliability, let alone the fact that you didn’t even attend the selection trials.
Would you think it would be fair to the other cricketers who chose cricket and passed up the chance of an IIT or IIM degree?
Just like cricket has it’s demands, so does main stream education.
If you choose to make big bucks in medicine, engineering or management then you can’t sue the cricket selectors for not considering you for selection despite your talent!
Similarly, if Unmukt chose to go for glory in cricket, he has no business expecting any more concessions in education than what the Institution has laid out prior to the “start of the game” so to speak!
In my youth, I would have easily made it to the Indian sprint team. But I chose to pursue my studies instead and don’t regret it. We must learn to take responsibility for our choices.
You can’t have the cake and eat it! There is no free meal in life!!!
