Some conclusions from Verdict 2011

  • Anti-Left sentiment found in Mamata what appears to be a viable alternative to the Left. For now. Lousy administrator preferred as she was approachable by the downtrodden compared to the tyranny of the Red Army.
  • Jayalalithaa did the same, albeit been seen as the lesser of two evils. DMK will walk with the loot? Is JJ smart enough to learn from her past mistakes?
  • The Yuvaraj of Cong(I) gifted Kerala (the retirement destination) with a strong opposition. Keralites couldn’t decisively decide against succumbing to their old habit of switching sides despite all evidence that the Cong(I) is a cancer in India.
  • The North East (Assam) needs another three terms (15 yrs) to catch up with the rest of India. They picked a man (Gogogoi) who may well emerge as the new face of a federal move in the 125 yr old family controlled Cong(I).
  • The Jagan Reddy verdict puts the Cong(I) on notice: Resist regional leaders at your own peril.
  • The BJP’s complete absence from any score board of note was a reality show they would have killed to avoid given their ostrich like behaviour. Only psycophants allowed! Unseat regional leaders. Strike shady secret deals with Cong(I) to keep self in power. The utter bankruptcy of the BJP “Leadership” stood fully exposed.
  • The constitutional fathers had visualised a federal structure 63 yrs ago; India’s politicians are yet to understand that. Decentralisation will happen, slowly & painfully OR swiftly and painlessly – depending on the ‘rulers’ in Delhi.
  • The people’s court in Karnataka gave BSY a go-ahead signal; the judiciary didn’t agree. Will the lack of judicial accountability delay recognising the primacy of the voter?
  • Never ever take the voter for granted or assume they are dumb sheep meant for the slaughter house.
  • The only democratic institution in India that has come off with flying colours: The Election Commission. Reason? Politicians have limited power of appointment – then the EC is independent.
  • No wonder the Cong(I) wants a diluted Lokpal.
  • And Anna Hazare owes an apology for saying the voter will cast his vote for Rs.500
