The expertise of the Manmohan Singh Government to cover up is indeed impressive!
Read carefully, and you’ll see that what the GOI has done is use “Security” and “Public Interest” to place the ENTIRE S-Band outside the purview of any commercial exploitation and thereby rendered the Antrix-Devas deal infructuous. That has many more implications than just the annulment of the Devas-Antrix deal: No future PRIVATE projects can be undertaken so long as the S-Band is unavailable for “Commercial” use.
This is like the mountain coming to Mohammed in the famous cliché, since neither INC nor MMS EVER accepts any wrong doing. So sacrifice any future public interest projects undertaken by private parties, allowing only EXPANSION of inefficient GOI in all & sundry businesses foresaking its main responsibility:Governance.
THE MEDIA MUST WATCH OUT FOR WHAT GOI “SETTLES” THE MATTER WITH Devas – outside or inside court. THAT will be hard cash LOST by GOI & MMS as a price India will pay to cover up MMS’s incompetence.
