“Locked In” Senior Citizen Quandary

I recently (14th April 2023) moved into a much publicised (Senior Citizen) Serviced Apt & Club that was sold to me as the ultimate Senior Living establishment with ‘International Lineage’.

It is no doubt flashy with overstated ‘features’.

But as I continue to ‘live’ here, the ugly fangs of Corporate Greed begin to show. Slowly but surely.

Today I’ll focus on just one thing: Food.

This is a basic and essential aspect of Senior Citizen living. With age, the ability to go down to the ‘dining room’ will inevtiably set in. So I had enquired about ‘rooms service’ at the time of booking the Apt and the astute salesperson had assured me that at a nominal cost, all food that’s available in the dining hall would be served at the Apartment. In fact, I was told that any food served in any of the restaurants would be served in the Apt too.

All residents at this establishment have blindly signed on to some ‘service agreements’. Locked In. Food is indeeed available with no restrictions at the dining hall, and till today, in the room service too.

But to my utter shock and anguish, I was told that the ‘Rules’ had changed. I could order *either* one of the offerings but not both, though I could get both if I went down to the dining room!

I enquired with the CEO about the legitimacy of this diktat. This change in ‘rules’ after the game had begun and pointed to the illogical & arbitrary nature of this act.
