On many nights, I’ve stayed up for The Closing Bell on CNBC (US) just to hear Maria Bartiromo say those words at the very start of her trade-marked programme.
Maria always opens the show with that signature line (as do her stand-ins) and there is a “magic” in her delivery and those words. It captures the escence of investing, trading or just plain economics. Every days is a different theme, depending on whats hot in economic news in the US and sometimes, elsewhere.
Topically, what Muthiah Muralitharan is to Srilankan Cricket, Sachin Tendulakr is to Indian cricket, Maria is to Biz News. World Wide. The only one who comes close to being compared is Quest Means Business on CNN.
Maria has seen CNBC from its infancy I think and CNBC wont be the same w/o her when she finally flicks the switch to take her well earned retirement. I suspect that not too soon, but I felt sort of sad when the though occurred tonight and decided to share it.
I think I’ve come to “know” Maria.
