#FF Twitter’s Friday & Morning (EST) woes

Every Friday, everyone gets into a frenzied #FF mode, scratching everyone’s backs. I’m saying this after a little bit of research.

To take an extreme example – only to highlight the point – I looked over the tweets of one person who had a page full of #FF every single Friday in June. I noticed he #FF every single new follower of his and then some.

However, less than 2% of these people’s tweets he ever replied to or retweeted in the same period. That should tell you the ‘weight’ of his ‘recommendations’. Whats worse, he #FF Bots too, in his frenzy.

In June, I looked at some 15 #FF chains. The pattern was the same.

I understand the compulsions of scratching the backs for your friends & followers. But there is a better way to do that AND help twitter from being “overloaded” at the same time!

Retweet them during the week. Your followers will know as will your friends! And that “load” will be spread over the whole week!

Try it. Be large hearted. It pays 🙂
