“Should Govt allow100% FDI in nuclear power generation If India has to come to 45 GW By 2020 NPCIL would hv to cough up USD 14 billion how ?” – Manish Tewari, Congress Spokesman on Twitter.
GOI would not allow 51% FDI in Telecom on security grounds but is “discussing” 100% FDI in ENERGY???? That would ensure that the New East India Company will come in under the guise of Nuke Energy and the INC would have successfully sold out India’s independence for all time to come.
Imagine, energy security is, with water security, the forecasted wars of the future and INC wants to sell us out?
IS THIS WHY MANMOHAN SINGH WAS SO DESPERATE FOR A NUKE DEAL? So in UPA2 he can sell out India’s Energy Security and the INC can retire from politics since they wont ever be returned to power?
If we announce (and stick to it) that no more than 26% will be allowed, FDI will gladly come to share the growth in India. Maybe 49% in exceptional cases of super-mega-nuke-power plants to be located in the deserts of India.
And we can afford to take growth slowly, if energy independence is at stake.
Has the GOI gone mad with greed?
