When the power of the Army can run any country, especially economically weak ones like Pakistan, there can be no peace – now or ever – since the Pak Army’s Raison D’etre is hostilities with India. That’s how Jinnah constructed this establishment so that he could control a chaotic situation – along with a hate-India public psyche.
It is time to leave this unfortunate neighbour behind in its own economic collapse and while augmenting it’s military might to guard against any misadventure by Pak or its agents in Kashmir, concentrate on building the economic juggernaut that will eventually have this neighbour “need” peace with India to get economic benefits that will follow with such a peace.
The MMS legacy seeking vision is neither brave nor sensible. Times have changed. He of all people ought to know that. Its at a huge cost to the country that MMS is trying to repeat his feat of being the author of liberalisation. That was an accident of history as he is an accidental politician. Over rated and simply unfit to run the government of such a disparate country like ours.
We have seen not one shred of evidence that the MMS government works for the Aam Admi. It only works for the corrupt and incompetent people who have latched on to the INC bandwagon.
