In an age of specialization, India is “run” by the Indian Administrative Service which has no specialists, only generalists. They get “trained” and “aligned” over years of “on-the-job” training learning the ropes at the cost of the Aam Admi (Average Indian).
What does he/she get trained in? Space? Law? Heavy Industry? Telecom? Science & Technology? Women & Children Welfare? Law & Order? Foreign Affairs? Armed Forces? Spying? Investigations? Banking & Finance? State subjects? Local issues? — the list just goes on and on.
NO. The IAS “Officer” is trained to follow the directions of his political bosses. That is those bosses with “experience” in government. i.e. INC.
In an age where specialists are required for each narrow field in order to solve any problems, where is India headed with IAS officers trained in the science of perpetrating scams and the ensuing cover up???
