The BJP is demanding that the then Coal Minister (and PM) resign first and no discussion is necessary. That the Coal Minister is culpable when a huge loss is uncovered on his watch is a basic tenet of good governance. Asking that the minister step down so as to facilitate an unbiased inquiry is a basic tenet of democracy.
Given that when the CWG scam broke, first this GOI defended the culpable member of parliament and then suspended him. They promised action on the inquiry report being tabled. When their Delhi government was indicted they failed to take any action against their Chief Minister. The primafacie fact showing a scam exists that needs investigations was enough. The CAG was right.
In the 2G scam, the Prime Minister at first defended A Raja the telecom minister. Here again, the minister was asked to resign and the probe is on. The CAG was right.
How come these basic tenets are not applicable to the Prime Minister when he was the coal minister on whose watch the biggest scam in India has apparently taken place? As usual, time will show that the CAG is right!
The other hilarious thing is the defense being offered by the GOI & Congress Party. They say all but 3 allotments have not even been started wok on for mining coal. So where is the loss?
This is hilarious since, this admitted fact not only shows that the allotments were made to incompetent parties but that the shortfall in electricity generation can be directly linked to the bad allotment failing to deliver the needed coal to power plants and projects coming up. That in turn has cost India huge losses in lost production and productivity due to electricity shortages and outages! If this were also accounted, the Coalgate would increase many fold.
Curios why the BJP is not pointing this out!
Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister has cost India far too much. How insensitive elfish can he possibly be? He’s definitely India’s worst ever PM.
