Why Hindus Must not take their eye off the ball

I know, this is a purely political post and deals with a much debated topic. But Hindus, including the BJP-Hindutva variety are stuck in that same jail built over decades of subservience to the Moguls & the British. In fact, a jail created by the British invented “education” system.

No one disputes the century old traditions of Hindus has survived the onslaught of the Moguls, the British and even the ultra-leftist (read anti-national) Congress who’ve always been ‘lefter’ than the communists themselves.

Since this blog is not meant to be a lesson in history, I’ll dispense with the gory details of people, places and time periods. Instead I want to “focus” on the core issue that plagues all Hindus.

Over centuries, Hindus were not just tolerant of all other religious thought & practices, but indeed fostered themvasudhaiva kutumbakam. No other civilisation can hold a candle to this true secularism. None in the whole history of this planet.

So when the misled start crying about “equality”, “azadi”, etc, its all just a whole pile of hogwash. Hindus have absolutely no reason to be apologetic for anything whatsoever. As for the newly resurgent Islam, just see whats really happening everywhere within their fiefdoms, world wide.

It the rectification of massive excesses of the “others” who are are intolerant of “non-believers” that has now to be undertaken with full vigour. Failing to do so will *eradicate* the Hindu thought and true secularism.

The reality is that such a defence needs political power. That in turn means whole heartedly supporting the only *original* political party – the BJP – instead of Johnny come lately “Hindu” political bhakths. Everyone knows who they are. And their belief that Hindus are fools & softies. Like the bygone era of subservience – all thanks to the rise of Hindu conscientiousness and the ascent of their own party – the BJP.

The hard brake of appeasement has only started. A level playing field (true secularism!) has also only begun. This “churn” will continue for at least a generation or two; maybe more.   This generation needs to see the top level picture (from 30,000 ft as the cliché goes). Take the eye of this ball, and live for generations to regret it.

Is the BJP perfect? Most certainly no! But these are things that will evolve. In the life of a nation, a few decades are but a blip.

Every system or organisation will have some infirmity or other.

The quest for a “perfect” system will always elude us, as long as there are lots of people involved. That’s why we aim for Progress not Perfection. That takes a few generations!

While that must not deter us from pursuing a perfect system, we must also not shy away from engaging and reforming the inadequacies.

But know this: Unless you play the game, you cannot win!
